Privacy Policy

Who we are

Sun Sequence LLC (“Sun Sequence,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Virginia limited liability company (EIN 42-3011175) that operates the Sun Sequence website and the coaching program offered through it. We provide one-on-one coaching focused on behavior, habits, and self-understanding, along with educational content about the biology and genetics that shape them. What data we collect and why

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password. We use this to authenticate you and to communicate with you about your account.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your credit card number. Stripe provides us with a record that a payment was completed, which we use to unlock your access. Stripe’s privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.

Scheduling and communications

When you book a call (a free discovery call or a coaching session), our scheduling provider, Cal.com, collects the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, and time zone, so we can hold the call and send reminders. During the coaching program we communicate with you by phone, text message, and email, and we use that contact information only to deliver the coaching you signed up for.

Genetic data: data minimization

Raw DNA files (from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, or similar services) contain highly sensitive personal information. We take the following steps to minimize what we store:

• When you upload a raw DNA file, it is transmitted securely to our servers and held in private storage only long enough to be parsed, typically a matter of seconds.
• Our parser extracts only the specific genetic variants (rsIDs) referenced in our educational content. No other data from your file is read or retained.
• The raw file is permanently deleted from our servers immediately after parsing is complete.
• Only the small set of extracted genotypes (e.g. “AG” at a specific rsID) is stored in our database, linked to your account.

We do not store, sell, share, or analyze your raw DNA data. We do not use your genetic data for advertising, research, or any purpose other than displaying your personal genotypes within our educational content.

How we store and protect your data

Your account data and extracted genotypes are stored in a Supabase-managed PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS infrastructure in the United States. Access to your data is protected by row-level security policies, so no other user can access your information. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard access controls and do not grant third parties access to your personal data.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes. We use the following service providers to operate the site, each of whom processes data only as needed to provide their service:

• Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage
• Stripe: payment processing
• Cal.com: appointment scheduling
• Vercel: website hosting

Your rights and choices

You may contact us at any time to:

• Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data, including your stored genotypes
• Ask questions about how your data is handled

Children’s privacy

Sun Sequence is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, particularly to how we handle genetic data, we will notify you by email. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
